Sharon Clarke is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received a Master of Social Work from Temple University and a Bachelor of Cultural Anthropology from Eastern Baptist College (now known as Eastern University). She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has advanced training in EMDR. Sharon specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives and is dedicated to providing the help needed while going through the healing process. Sharon works collaboratively with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and challenges of daily life. She has had specialized training in working with individuals experiencing issues of Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA) and in working with family members of those struggling with addiction.
Sharon has had experience over the past 40 years working in diverse and varied settings. Starting out in her career she worked at both St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Division of Child Development, providing a multitude of services to parents of children with various physical, learning and emotional challenges. She then moved to Massachusetts where she had a private practice for more than 10 years. Over the past 18 years she worked at a local counseling center where she served as Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, and provided psychotherapy to clients with a variety of life challenges. In that setting she also worked collaboratively with substance abuse clinicians providing treatment to individuals with diagnosis of substance abuse and mental health issues.
