Alexander Margolies, MSW

Alexander earned his Master’s degree in Social Work and Social Research from Bryn Mawr College. He works with children and adults and has spent the last 3 years working with children of all ages and their families at a Mastery Charter School in Philadelphia as well as a progressive learning school in the greater Philadelphia area. Additionally, Alexander has over 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents through mentoring and coaching athletics.

Alexander views therapy through a flexible, integrative, trauma-informed lens that strives to understand different cultures with humility and respect. He takes a “person in environment” approach, incorporating elements from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment theory (ACT). Alexander specializes in anxiety and depression. He has a special interest in the role that mindfulness and meditation can play in the therapeutic process. Alexander utilizes an approach of collaboration with the client so that the treatment is tailored to fit the client’s needs at a pace that correlates with individual healing and growth.
